Today students practiced identifying good testable questions and good hypotheses for scientific experiments. They also practiced coming up with their own testable questions and hypotheses.

Today students will be taking notes on the Scientific Method. The full notes are attached.
Today students were expected to bring their mystery bag with 5 items that relate to them. Students received a bag that belongs to someone else and practiced making observations and inferences using those items. The worksheet they worked on completed is attached.
Today we will be learning about the main steps in the Scientific Method. We will be making this "wheel of logic" to put in our notebooks. We will also learn about the rules related to the mystery bag. Your Mystery Bag is due tomorrow with 5 things that relate to you in some way. Please also bring your Science Safety Contract.
Today students practiced making observations and inferences. They will be bringing in a mystery bag next Tuesday, the 11th with five things that relate to them somehow. These can be small items. Notes are attached here:
We reviewed class expectations and did an exploration in inquiry.
We watched a video on empathy. Students worked in groups to build a pyramid out of cups. This was to practice working well together in groups. Next students took notes on observations and inferences. We will be using that knowledge in the upcoming week. Notes:
