Today students will update their sunrise/sunset data. (This is attached below). Then students will learn how to measure mass and do a mass measurement lab. (data table attached to see what we are measuring).
Today students updated their table of contents. Next, students put a chart including the prefixes, names, and abbreviations for metric units in their notebooks and filled in the missing information in the charts (attached below). Finally, students did a "my measurement" lab using a tape measure (attached below- there are 2 data tables and you only need one).
Today students had time to finish their science safety posters. Next, students updated the sunrise/sunset data table. Then we took notes on metric units of measurement (attached below). Finally, we did a measurement lab (attached below) using rulers and meter sticks. We recorded measurements in centimeters.
Today students created their own science safety slogan (related to the safety contract) and hung it up in the room. They did a great job!
Today students will learn about lab safety. We will read over the science safety contract and watch a video regarding lab safety. Students will also brainstorm ideas they want to use for their lab safety poster they will make. Science safety contracts will be handed out, which should be signed by the student and parent/guardian. These are due Friday, September 11th. If needed, a contract is attached below.
Today students set up their Science notebooks and filled in their sunrise/sunset data in their data table.
Today students are showing an item related to them and why it is important to them. Then we are doing a lab to show how soap affects milk and its properties.
Today students learned more about each other and discussed the 3 norms we will follow in class. Students also came up with a way I will get their attention in each class.
Students: Please remember to bring your item tomorrow that relates to you! Today students are learning facts regarding COVID-19. The google slide presentation is attached.
