Today students watched a brain pop on the seasons. Then the students answered the following questions:
1a. What basic needs are provided by an organism's habitat? 1b. What might happen to an organism if its habitat could not meet one of its needs? 2a. Define the terms biotic factors and abiotic factors. 2c. Explain why water and sunlight are two abiotic factors that are important to all organisms. 3a. List these terms in order from the smallest level to the largest level: population, organism, ecosystem, community. 3b. Would all the different kinds of organisms in a forest be considered a population or community? Explain. Students also worked on their Unit 2 cover page for Ecology. Today students will review biotic and abiotic factors and identify each in a picture they are given. Then students will learn about living things and the environment. Notes are attached below.
Today students learned what biotic and abiotic factors are and went over examples of each. Then students practiced identifying objects as being biotic or abiotic. We also watched the Ecosystem Brain Pop video. Notes are attached.
Today students are going into Google classroom and watching the video about the superpower they chose again. While watching the video they will write down at least 2 reasons they couldn't actually have that superpower. After watching the video students are writing an extended CEAL paragraph using the graphic organizer attached in Google classroom. The evidence used should come from the video.
Today students got to pick a superpower they would like to have from a list and wrote a short paragraph telling why they would want that superpower. To do this assignment, go to Google Classroom. You will complete the survey. At the bottom there is a space for a long response answer where you can write your paragraph. After writing the paragraph you can click the TEDEd link and watch the video for the super power you chose.
Today students completed an Edpuzzle on the Scientific Method (in Google classroom). Then they completed a Unit 1 show what you know. Last, they had time to finish typing their Oreo lab report and turn it in if needed. Have a great weekend!
Today students signed into Google classroom and typed their Oreo lab reports. These are due by Monday, October 8th. If you were absent today please see me for the Google classroom code.
Today we discussed the data collected and students analyzed the data and wrote a conclusion for the Oreo Lab. Analyze Data questions and the conclusion are attached below.
Today students wrote out the materials needed for the Oreo lab and procedure to follow. Next they weighed regular and double stuf(f) Oreos to see whether double stuf(f) Oreos are indeed double stuffed!
