Today students decoded their initials to make a DNA strand.

Today we reviewed how DNA nitrogen bases pair. We took notes on protein synthesis as well as mutations and read about these topics in the textbook. We also did a discover activity in the textbook on page 97. I will attach the notes from today below.
Today students did a skills lab to find out the answer to the question: Are traits controlled by dominant alleles more common than traits controlled by recessive alleles?
Today we watched a TedEd on "The book of you" Next we took notes on DNA. Last, we watched a Brain Pop on DNA and how genetics work. The TedEd and notes are attached.
Today students defined key terms for Unit 3, Genetics. Next students worked on their cover page for Genetics.
Today students watched a characteristics of life video (linked below). They also completed a crossword puzzle on the characteristics of life (attached below). Then they read pages 10-14 in their text book. Finally, students watched a brain pop on homeostasis.
Today students worked in groups to make a poster on one of the 6 main characteristics of life.
Today students had time to finish their questions from yesterday. Next students took notes on the main characteristics of life. I am attaching the note guide below. We also watched the Brain Pop on Body Chemistry.
Today students were assessed on their understanding of what they have learned in our Ecology unit. They answered the following questions on the following pages. P. 37 & 38 (1-4, 6-11, 21-24) and P. 78 (9, 11, 21, 22, 24). I am attaching a copy of the pages below.
